Henna at Community Learning Event

  Today I was lucky enough to give henna tattoos at a wonderful event. The Temple B'Nai Abraham, in Beverly, had a community event to teach about the culture and traditions of Sephardic Jews. There was food, music, belly dancing, and my henna along with other events.

Relay For Life

  Don't Forget, Tonight Henna by Allie will be at the Team Chunky Couture Super-sized Cure tent, or Tahiti, giving awesome henna tattoos.

Henna by Allie

Henna by Allie will be set up at the East Boston Relay for Life, this Friday 6/15 at the stadium in Eastie! Stop by for some awesome henna tats and all of the other awesome fundraisers the other teams will have set up. Starting at 6pm!

Spiral Knights Contest

I was one of the winners of the Spiral Knights Edible Monsters Contest with my lichen colony! My prize was this super awesome accessory of a Love Puppy pocket monster for my knight!

New Widget

So You'll notice there's a new widget on my page from a site called "Gig Salad". I've listed my services as a henna artist (and face painter) on this site to try to get the word out! Not sure how it will work yet, but hopefully people use the site to search for "henna". :)

Still Playing with My Food

Okay so I have a day off today, and I thought it might be fun to make more entries. (You can enter once per "family" type). So here they are:


Creep Cake
Family: No Type
Ingredients: red velvet cupcake, frosting, marshmallow fluff, sprinkles, food coloring, and a cinnamon stick.
Process: I baked the cupcake and decorated w frosting and inserted cinnamon stick to look like candle. I topped the candle with fluff, and used fluff for details (face). The fluff on the candle has yellow food coloring for a flame, and the eyes have red food coloring and red sprinkles on them.

Lichen Colony

Family: Slime
Ingredients: Clementine, food coloring, red leaf lettuce, honey
Process: I cut the bottom rind off and sliced it for spikes, then I cut the clementine in half. The rind "spikes" have red food coloring to look slightly darker. I inserted them into the half by making little holes with a paring knife. I then cut a few small circles out of a red lettuce leaf for the purple spots, and then drizzled honey over it for that slimy shine. :)

Playing with my Food

   These are pictures for a contest put on by Spiral Knights. You have to create one of the monsters featured in the game out of food (3D or 2D). I decided to make a Love Puppy out of frosting. the bottom two pictures are of the first attempt on parchment paper. The top photo is the final of the second attempt on a cookie. made with various colors of frosting and a piping bag. :)
